What should I do if my water heater is leaking from the top?

Shut off power and water, then schedule service. A top leak often comes from loose inlet/outlet connections, the temperature and pressure (T&P) valve, or the anode rod port. Doc Dancer provides same-day water heater repair and works on both traditional and tankless systems. We serve Fort Wayne, New Haven, and nearby communities.

Quick steps:

  • Turn off breaker (electric) or set gas to pilot.
  • Close the cold-water supply valve.
  • Dry the top and look for seepage at fittings/valves.
  • Call a licensed plumber for diagnosis and repair.
